Baseball season is just around the corner, and Oxford local Reggie Mize will be coaching his own son’s baseball team and helping young men from around Oxford and the surrounding areas live up to their dream.
Mize played baseball when he was in high school and started coaching as well. He has been coaching his son, Christopher, since he was 3.
Mize focuses on good sportsmanship, positivity, and having fun. He is all about winning and having a good season, but having a good attitude and enjoying the game means more to him than anything.
“I want them to remember me by ‘Coach Reggie taught me to do right and always play by the rules’… I’ve enjoyed watching these guys grow up into young men,” Mize said.
His players work hard to make themselves better players and better people. A team prayer is always prayed before the game.
