Northeast Community College Student Austin Burl, 19, and Calhoun City High School student Jalen Glass, 18, are two young men who breed, raise and train quarter horses and Tennessee walking horses. Burl and Glass have been training horses since the age of 13.

“They are the smoothest horse there is,” said Burl, describing Tennessee walking horses. “They have a pretty good gate, fancy, and they are show horses.”

Glass, who specializes in quarter horses, said they are multi-talented. They help herd cattle, and people can use them to leisurely trail ride.
