Photography has come a long way since 1827 when the first photo was taken. Today, new technology makes photography simpler and quicker. Madeline Beck is a University of Mississippi senior from Omaha, Nebraska. Her interest in photography began during her sophomore year of college. Beck decided to pursue photography during a time of change. She bought her camera, a Canon EOS Rebel T3, from eBay in 2015, and her passion for photography blossomed.

Last year, the city of Oxford had to close its pool at certain times because of a shortage of lifeguards. Oxford Park Commission leaders are working to ensure that doesn’t happen this summer.
It won’t be long until the Oxford Community Market is open again for business. Market Director Betsy Chapman, sitting in her office at the community office space The Edison, is working to bring the open-air farmer’s market back to the Old Armory Pavilion April through December.
