William Faulkner’s biggest impact on Oxford was setting the town as the scene of his most famous novels. Thousands come from all over the United States each year to tour Rowan Oak, the author’s Oxford home.
Oxford and the University of Mississippi offer opportunities to thrive academically, socially, artistically and spiritually. Some have a unique story about what Oxford has meant to them as a student, resident or visitor.
Members of the North Mississippi band, The Mother Infinite, have dedicated their lives to create unique and innovative musical art. The group has spent the last 14 months or so writing, recording, and mixing their own songs.
Quentin Dupieux, or as he calls himself when releasing music, Mr. Oizo, is a French born filmmaker and electronic musician. Dupieux’s penchant for the surreal combined with razor sharp wit and unmatched musical ability continues to make him one of the most exciting contemporary artists, despite having an expansive body of work dating back to 1997.
